A magnificent large Saiko Kutani charger from Edo period, 19thC. It has every detail from front to back with lucky ships sailings theme decoration similar to Japanese folklore of the Takarabune, Treasure ships. The three ships are full of Saintly figures, courtly classy ladies, and young boys doing various scholarly activities.

The entire charger is cover with glazed, including the base of the footrim. It has very un-usual tiny sesame seed size kiln's spurs mark.

This large and heavy charger is 16.5"D (41.91 cm). Weight almost 7 lbs.

Age / Dating: Japanese, late Edo period, first half of 19th C.
