Japanese Hirado ware blue and white porcelain fresh water jar with covered for tea ceremony (Mizusashi) with relief mold of Shishi lion.
I don't know how Hirado potter did it, but there's a loose porcelain ball in the mouth of the Shishi lion on the lid. It can roll back and forward and make fun clunking sound whenever the lid is moved.
An almost identical jar is in the collection of Jameel Centre, Ashmolean museum, Oxford University: Jameel Centre Hirado Water Jar surmounted by Shishis.
It's date to circa 1820s.
